Exit Code 1 (Elytra Daemon)

If your server crashes or fails to start, you may see the following in your console:

[Elytra Daemon]: ---------- Detected server process in a crashed state! ----------
[Elytra Daemon]: Exit code: 1
[Elytra Daemon]: Out of memory: false
[Elytra Daemon]: Aborting automatic restart, last crash occurred less than 60 seconds ago.

What causes this

Exit Code 1 is a general error that can be triggered by several things, including:

• Your node is experiencing an outage or undergoing maintenance.
• A misconfigured plugin or mod is preventing the server from starting.
• Incompatible plugins or mods installed on your server.
• A corrupted or missing server file.

• An incorrect or incompatible JVM version for your server software.

How to fix it

1. Check your console logs for any error messages that appear before the Exit Code 1 line — they usually point to the exact cause.
2. Remove recently added plugins or mods and try starting the server again to see if one of them is causing the crash.
3. Check your JVM version by going to the Startup tab in your panel and making sure the Java version matches what your server software requires.
4. Reinstall your server if you suspect a corrupted or missing file. Go to the Settings tab in your panel and click Reinstall Server.
