Uploading Files Larger Than 10 GB

Files larger than 10 GB can't be uploaded directly through the server world file. Instead, upload the archive to a public file, then import it using the file's direct download link.

Follow each step carefully.

Step 1: Upload Your File to an External Hosting Service

Before importing your file into the panel, upload your archive to a cloud hosting service that provides a direct download link.

Some common services include:

• Google Drive
• Dropbox
• GitHub Releases
• Any other file hosting service that allows public direct downloads

Wait until the upload has finished completely before moving on to the next step.

Note: Large files may take several minutes or longer to upload depending on your internet speed.

Step 2: Make the File Publicly Accessible

After uploading the file, make sure anyone with the link can access it.

The panel must be able to download the file without requiring:

• A login
• A password
• Permission requests
• Any confirmation from you

If the file is private or restricted, the import will fail because the server cannot access it.

Step 3: Copy the Direct Download Link

Copy the file's direct download URL.

A direct download link points directly to the file itself rather than opening a preview page.

If your hosting service provides both a preview link and a download link, always use the download version.

Note: Using the wrong type of link may cause the panel to download a webpage instead of the actual archive.

Step 4: Open the Files Section

Log in to your BaoHost management panel.

Navigate to the Files section for the server where you want to upload the archive.

This is where all server files can be managed.

Step 5: Select "Upload from URL"

Inside the Files page, locate the Upload from URL option.

Click it to open the import window.

Instead of uploading a file from your computer, this feature tells the panel to download the file directly from the internet.

Step 6: Paste the Download Link

Paste the direct download URL that you copied earlier into the URL field.

Double-check that the entire link is correct before continuing.

An incorrect or incomplete URL may cause the download to fail.

Step 7: Start the Import

Click the confirmation button to begin the import.

The panel will start downloading the archive from the external hosting service directly to your server.

Depending on the file size and network speed, this process may take several minutes.

Do not close the page or interrupt the process while the download is still running.

Step 8: Verify the Upload

Once the download has finished, refresh the Files page if necessary.

Your archive should now appear in the directory you selected.

You can now extract or use the uploaded file as needed.

Troubleshooting

If the upload does not work, check the following:

• The file is publicly accessible.
• The URL is a direct download link.
• The archive has not been deleted or moved.
• The external hosting service is online.
• The URL was copied correctly without missing characters.

Correcting these issues usually resolves most import problems.
